11 July - 02 August, 2019
Closing drinks Thurs July 25 6-8pm
Disguise me 明月松间照，清泉石上流 is a solo exhibition by Siying Zhou. It continues her investigation into the history and present of Chinese diasporas in Australia. Through her practice, she uses storytelling, installation, performance, photography and humour to consider the gap between herself and the Chinese women who are absent in the stories of the early Chinese migration to Australia.
Zhou studied Visual Art at Nanjing Art Institute. She moved to Australia in 2003, and recently completed an MFA at the Victorian College of the Arts. She has exhibited at Buxton Contemporary, Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, Firstdraft, SEVENTH Gallery, Blak Dot, Northern Centre for Contemporary Art and more. In 2019 she won the Linden New Art Prize.
